‘Fully waterproof and super tough’

-

Tested by Richard Newland for three months, 2500 miles

Kriega are revered for their clever design and quality. I’ve used their backpacks for years, and these soft panniers deliver all that I’ve come to associate with their kit. They’re beautifully constructed using abrasionresistant Hypalon + 1000D Cordura, with Kevlar webbing and alloy buckles. There are built-in security loops to enable you to lock the bags onto your bike, while the bags themselves mount to the backing plates with the simplicity of straps and buckles. They’re 100% waterproof, and are constructed ‘square’ so they have a structure to them, rather than being formless bags. Apart from being inherently less secure and less easy to use (the strap system can be a bit fiddly) than aluminium panniers, I can’t really fault them for build quality and value.
