Two strong sprung-loaded clamps hold the phone in place on the left top and bottom edges. Givi supply an elasticated safety strap too, but it’s a bit of a fiddle to use. It’s quick and easy to use, but it does leave your phone exposed to the elements. If you want to add some weatherproofing, a touch-sensitive ‘Smartphone Sleeve’ is a further £16.50 – however, it affects the screen’s readability and means the phone doesn’t sit as snugly in the mount. It can be a bit disconcerting snapping those jaws shut on your precious and pricey smartphone too.
