New website hosts loads of info for learner riders
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have launched a new website that hosts loads of invaluable information for learners. The site offers tailored advice for beginners about getting into riding, as well as more practical advice for passing the various tests. There’s also a dedicated area that outlines your responsibility as a bike owner with advice on documentation that could prove useful for existing owners too.
“The platform offers a selection of resources tailored to powered two wheeler users and novices, giving some excellent advice, direction and tools to make the journey on to two wheels as comprehensive, yet simple as possible,” says Karen Cole, Director of Road Safety and Rider Training at the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA). “The inclusion of post-test training also shows the DVSA share the MCIA’s view that once a test is passed it should not signify the end of learning or training.”
The safedrivingforlife.info site has six sections for bikers including: Pass your learner tests, How to ride a motorcycle, Develop your riding skills, You and your experience, and Your vehicle and documents. Going through the full set will take riders on a journey from applying for a provisional licence, right through to post-test advanced riding schemes. All the info is free but there’s also a subscription area from £15 with extra info and videos for those preparing for a test.
