Big changes for little Aprilias

-

Aprilia have unveiled major changes to their RS125 and Tuono 125 models with new styling, a reworked engine, fully digital dash and a new ECU. Both get a heavily revised singlecylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a new head, redesigned combustion chamber, new intake and exhaust ducts and a new iridium spark plug. The cams, air intake and filter are all new, as is the repositioned throttle body. The exhaust has been redesigned with a more efficient cat. The result is a ‘more robust’ torque curve and an engine that hits max power (15bhp) at lower revs. Both have had a styling update with the Tuono 125 getting a taller screen and the more pronounced half-fairing style of the Tuono V4. And the RS125 could now be mistaken for its RS660 (at a distance) and comes in red or a new white, purple and red livery. There’s also a GP-replica version that mimics the RS-GP MotoGP bike and gets a quickshifter as standard (usually an optional extra) and a cover for the pillion seat.

The 2021 RS125 costs £4600 (the GP-replica is an extra £100) and the Tuono 125 costs £4500.
