CALENDAR
A new-look WSB calendar sees the opening two rounds run backto-back, two new circuits with Most and Navarra, plus three races on consecutive weekends in September and into October. The final two rounds in Argentina and Indonesia are unlikely given Covid and the fact the Indonesian track is not yet homolgated. RULE CHANGES IN 2021
Just 10 days of private testing is allowed per rider this season Long Lap Penalties introduced 20 minutes less practice time over a weekend, making setup decisions more critical Superpole reduced from 25 minutes to 15, further increasing the tension on race weekend
WHITHAM SAYS…
Reducing testing to 10 days is a positive move. All championships have regulations in a bid for equality. Wealthy teams can test more so restricted testing takes some of that advantage away. Not only that, but it’s a money saver – crucial for the smaller teams in these uncertain times.
