Injuries for Chaz, Marshal hospitalised
Barcelona brought several stark reminders of the perils in what has already been an horrendous year for motorcycle racing accidents. On Friday morning a marshal was seriously injured when retrieving a stricken Supersport bike, pinned up against a wall as another machine crashed. The unnamed female marshal was immediately hospitalised with a broken pelvis, upper leg, arm and nose. Czech rider Ondrej Vostatek received a race ban for disrespecting yellow flags. Supersport 300 contender Tom Booth-Amos underwent surgery with renowned surgeon, Dr Xavier Mir, on Monday in a bid to pin a broken collarbone. He also suffered a broken finger after a collision with Oliver König and Bahattin Sofuoglu in Saturday’s race. Booth-Amos is in a race against time to get back for Jerez and Portimao as he looks to challenge Spain’s Adrian Huertas.
Chaz Davies has two broken ribs after a Sprint Race collision with Lucas Mahias. 2013 World Champion Tom Sykes crashed and was struck by Mahias in Race 2, suffering a head injury, concussion, cuts to his mouth and bruising to his torso. For a time there was grave concern as the
