Meet Eddie Kidd at his Daredevil Stunt Show

With amazing action planned, you can meet Eddie at all four shows in Chelmsford this weekend

After being featured on the BBC’s Top Gear last November, Eddie started trending on Twitter, his Instagram followers bloomed to 18,000 in just five hours and the UK was again obsessed with the Black Knight.

Karl Rushen and James Martin of motorshows.co.uk realised this might be the rejuvenation of the world of stunts and quickly got to work.

“I’ve raced motorbikes all my life,” says Karl. “And we obviously saw Eddie on Top Gear and we thought if we’re going to do a stunt show then we might as well do it with the only World Champion – we might as well do it with the best.”

After meeting friends at networking events and ultimately getting the go-ahead from Eddie, the show came to life, and joining the line up are four top-level stunt teams. Some of the squads even changed their schedules so they could be at the show and meet the man himself, just like members of the public can throughout all four shows across the weekend.

There will plenty of bike action on offer, and even more from the Bolddog FMX and Stannage Stunt Team squads. The future generation of stunt riders, Solent Stars are taking on the name

Eddie’s Kids for the weekend in honour of the superstar. Plus, Paul Hannam will be there with his quad show, fresh from a feature on Top Gear. Top that with four monster trucks, a chance for monster truck rides, a fair and plenty to eat and drink, you’re in for a cracking day out with the family.

The essentials

There are four shows taking place this weekend (September 24 and 25) at Kings Farm in Chelmsford (CM1 3PJ) with morning shows running from 9.30am-2pm and afternoon shows running from 2.30pm7pm. Tickets are £22.75 including fees with kids 5-15 £17.51. Kids under 5 and carers can attend for free, but bear in mind that the tickets are for standing and there is no seating available – so make sure you take a camping chair.
