Bikers flock to Matlock Bath every weekend and line the streets in a hive of two-wheeled activity, so you know the surrounding routes are amazing, the views are spectacular, and now, there is a great café too.
Outkast Co. was the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Will and Danielle Livings. “We saw that there was a niche here,” explains Will. “Bikers come for fish, chips and tea, but there’s nothing specifically for bikers up here. So, what we really wanted to establish was a hub where they could come, chill out, have a coffee or bacon cob and just basically meet up with other bikers, chat and have a laugh.”
On the menu are delicious delights including steak burgers, toasties, bacon and sausage cobs. Will says they ensure to do the basics really well and there are options for dietary requirements, too. The baking is done in-house by Danielle, and the milkshakes are a marvel in themselves.
“The guys and girls who come down, even the big hairy ones, do like a bit of cake. You don’t get to be a 20-stone biker by not eating cake!”
Outkast also sell tickets for local rallies, and work with a variety of charities including bikers for mental health and bikers against child abuse, and recently had a visit from Henry Cole for The Motorbike Show.
Top that with a monthly bike night (first Wednesday of the month, 6pm) with a vibe Will describes as “brilliant because we get such a wide range of different types of biking people come in - they all just have a laugh.”
