As a documentary filmmaker, Boorman worked on numerous projects before fate brought him together with McGregor in 2003. Their ambitious plan to circumnavigate the globe on motorcycles, documented in the acclaimed Long Way Round series, catapulted Boorman into the spotlight. The journey not only tested their physical and mental limits but also highlighted the beauty and diversity of the world, inspiring countless viewers to embark on their own adventures.
Since then, Boorman has travelled thousands of miles on some of the world’s most challenging roads. Traversing Africa with McGregor in Long Way Down and venturing into the wild landscapes of South America on electric bikes in Long Way Up. He tackled the remote reaches of Eastern Europe and Asia in Charley Boorman’s Eastern Adventure and has taken on the world’s toughest off-road race in Race to Dakar.
