Stark’s bright future

Electric bike firm accelerate growth to meet rising demand

-

Barcelona-based electric motocross manufacturer Stark Future have announced a dramatic scaling-up in production numbers.

CEO and founder Anton Wass reported a large increase in the number of units built at the close of 2023. From small beginnings, the company (starkfuture.com) now claim to have quickly ramped-up production to close to 70 bikes per day, with more than 800 machines being completed during the month of November alone.

The increase in manufacturing volume at the Barcelona factory promises to shorten delivery dates on existing and new orders, with Wass claiming that the new production capacity should now enable lead times to decrease from “over a year, to only a few weeks”.

A year ago, in early January 2023, Royal Enfield’s parent company Eicher Motors Ltd announced a €50m investment in Stark Future SL, with Enfield since revealing a batterypowered Himalayan concept.

Despite the auspicious news, a number of commentators online have claimed they have been waiting in excess of two years for their orders, with some even reporting that their expected delivery dates have lengthened since the announcement.

Stark’s sole product, the Varg, packs a claimed 30% more punch that a traditional 450 MX machine, churning out 80bhp and up to an earth-twisting 938Nm of torque. All that power comes from a 6.5kWh battery capable of delivering up to six hours of use during easy trail riding.

Stark Future may be relative newcomers to the world of motocross but they are already making waves. Just this month, rider Jack Brunell stormed to an electrifying victory whilst piloting the Varg against the conventional petrol competition at the Manchester round of the British Arenacross championship.
