MCN’s Michael Neeves helps you get the most from your bike time
What better way to prep for an action-packed year of motorcycling than spending a bit of time with MCN’s Chief Road Tester Michael Neeves as he shares some wise words in a whole new special series of Bootcamp videos?
Whether you’ve been battling through Britain’s wet and windy winter or tucked up indoors awaiting warmer weather, you are guaranteed to find plenty of essential riding tips in this new video series to help make your Spring rides the best ever.
A total of six videos will be released via MCN’s YouTube channel from Wednesday, February 21, with the first episode covering speed management. Neevesy is joined by MCN reader Gavin Freeman as they ride the challenging roads that often feature in MCN road tests. BMW S1000RR owner Gavin has been riding for about six years and is keen to learn from MCN’s highly experienced Chief Road Tester.
In the video Neevesy talks about how you can use speed to your advantage and to get yourself out of danger when riding on the road. There’s also crucial advice around road positioning and how to treat your fellow road users with respect.
The remaining five episodes will follow – one each week from February 21 – and will cover numerous key aspects of riding well and safely on the road, including: cornering, overtaking, how to tackle tiredness, setting up your motorcycle properly and simple but effective bike maintenance. And in the final episode ex-British Superbike and World Superbike racer, Chris Walker, opens up his Kawasaki dealership in Grantham to the intrepid pair to give Gavin’s Beemer a once-over and also offer advice on what riders should be checking on their machines.
