Pierer snap up more of MV
KTM’s owners, Pierer Mobility Group, have increased their stake in MV Agusta, moving from their existing 25.1% wedge to a larger 50.1% ownership. With the deal announced late on Friday, March 15, the Austrian brand now hold the majority stake in the company and have moved in a member of their executive board, Hubert Trunkenpolz, as the new CEO and Chairman.
MV’s former CEO Timur Sardarov will remain as Vice-Chairman, a brand ambassador and consultant.
“MV Agusta embodies passion and a unique sense of romance that captivated me, a seasoned entrepreneur, from day one,” Sardarov said. “The personal challenge of guiding the company out of crisis and steering it towards success through innovative business strategies, team expansion, and new product developments has been conquered.
“It is an honour to play a role in shaping MV Agusta’s legacy. Over the past five years, both the company and I have evolved significantly. Our growth together is a testament to the transformative journey we’ve shared.”
Alongside KTM and half of MV, Pierer also own Husqvarna, GasGas, and WP Suspension. They also cover European parts supply and distribution for Chinese brands CFMoto and, more recently, Zeeho.
Exactly what this latest move will mean for MV Agusta remains to be seen, however it should only help to improve quality control, parts, and availability for the brand.
According to a post on Timur Sardarov’s Instagram page regarding the changes: “The headquarters and the team will continue their work without any changes.”
