Lowes turns around poor qualifying
Sam Lowes bounced back from a poor qualifying performance to take a competitive ninth place in Sunday’s Moto2 race. He finished only four seconds behind race winner Miguel Oliveira as he launched a late charge from 22nd on the grid. He was the latest to be caught out in qualifying as some of the racers realised they can now set their best times early in the session while the track is still coated in MotoGP Michelin rubber. Lowes reacted too late.
Red Bull KTM rider Oliveira took a last lap victory from the Team Sky VR46 duo of Luca Marini and Francesco Bagnaia, taking the championship lead from Bagnaia by two points.
