‘My sporty gear has got to be comfy, too’

Simon Gargun’s clobber is used for sunny rides in the Peak District

-

“I’m very lucky to live right next to the Peak District, so I have some of the very best roads in the UK on my doorstep.

“For me, my bike is a pressure release, the ideal stress reducer. I’m a technical manager for a gas company and I do over 40,000 miles a year in my company car travelling all over the UK. So, when I get a spare few hours, my first thoughts are to fire up the BMW and clear my head of work-related matters. “Although I do have a set of Dainese one-piece leathers, I’m far happier riding in my two-piece set as they are comfier. I don’t know if it is an age thing, but I’m no longer fussed about looking the part with a onepiece suit, I’d much rather be able to walk around without being all hunched over. And you can also take your jacket off if it is hot.

Maybe I’ve matured into twopiece leathers.”
