The Falco is a half-faired version of the RSV1000 in a new double-spar ally frame, with the engine tuned for more low-down torque. Never popular when new, for some reason, but it’s still capable of 150mph and it’s now very sought-after.
A Falco is easier to live with than an RSV and more comfortable for the pillion. It’s well equipped, except for a cheap rear shock. If you can find one, it’s a better bet than a VTR1000 or TL1000S, with much better fuel consumption and range.
Buyer beware
Check for front disc wear, and know that the battery needs to be fighting fit to start it. Otherwise, it’s very reliable. The sidestand is a little too long, though, which means the Falco is prone to being blown over in strong winds.
