Arai RX-7V Spencer rep, £790

I’m now well into my third year with the RX-7V and it has acquitted itself very well; as you’d expect for a helmet that’s worth more than my car! It is Arai’s top-ofthe-range race helmet. With a composite shell, plenty of venting and a large visor aperture, it is a wonderful track helmet, which I trust implicitly. It’s also extremely stable so not fatiguing at all. And, thanks to the removable chin curtain, it’s snuggly in winter. It’s a bit noisy, but I can live with that as I use earplugs. It’s one of the best helmets money can buy, but Arai’s Chaser X does almost as good a job and a race-rep version is £240 cheaper. Quality ★★★★★ Value ★★★★★ www.moto-direct.com
