This is Shoei’s premium road lid designed for everything from fast road rides and touring to a bit of track action. For someone who covers nearly 30,000 miles a year, the NXR is my go-to helmet. It’s very quiet, reasonably light (1360g), has plenty of vents and is comfortable to wear all day. The visor is easy to change (not always a given) and it comes prepared for a helmet intercom. As a day-to-day helmet goes, it does everything you’d expect really well. All that lets the NXR down is its performance in miserable weather.
