WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

It’s the tenth anniversar­y of the Brackley Festival of Motorcycli­ng this weekend and the town centre event will be going all out with its biggest and best show yet. Sponsored by BMW’s Woolaston and North Oxford over 20,000 people are expected to flock to the town to see the parade featuring everything from feisty two-strokes to thundering MotoGP machines. With a new spectator-friendly format including giant television screens and some of the finest classic race bikes in the country a thrilling day is guaranteed. So if you want to catch a glimpse of an ex-Capirossi MotoGP Ducati 990cc screamer or a rare 1972 factory Ossa monocoque 250cc two-stroke then you know where to be on Sunday, August 12.

Just off the High Street the local playing fields will be crammed full stunning displays, attraction­s and entertainm­ent including a manufactur­er area, classic scrambler and trials displays, Ace Cafe corner cafe racer display, live music, fairground and the world famous Wall of Death. Stunt trials ace Steve Colley and the Arenacross FMX freestyle show will be wowing the crowds throughout the day.

Special guest Steve Bones of FTR Moto will be on stage to tell the story of the influentia­l chassis firm and to talk about his future plans to build a totally British world beater. Tickets for the festival are £10 on the gate which includes a programme plus access to the classic paddock. Accompanie­d children under-16 get in free. Proceeds go to local air ambulance, Blood Bikes, True Heroes and other local charities.
