Rage against the machines

-

When Jon Urry, in his recent article about North Wales Police, writes about villagers being “annoyed” by the noise of motorcycles, I fear he grossly underplays the situation. When, every Sunday, one is woken at 6am by the scream of motorbikes, it’s not annoyance we villagers feel, it is rage; and when it goes on until 10pm, we are not annoyed, we are furious.

Our local police say they get more complaints about motorbike noise than about any other issue. Think on it. The Times recently said "Deafening motorbikes will have to be tamed if they don't tame themselves" and I believe the ball is now in the bikers' court. If they can’t themselves take steps to stop this anti-social behaviour by some bikers, the law will have to be changed to do it for them.
