Jobless Kent matches season’s best

Despite losing his 2019 ride, former world champion Danny Kent left Austria bouyed having matched his best result of the season in 12th. And the 24-year-old ex-Moto3 champ hopes the result will help him secure a seat for next year after his Speed Up team told him they won’t be honouring the second year of their deal. Struggling since his return to Moto2 at the beginning of 2018, Kent is optimistic that Sunday’s result will help him find some form. Aware that other riders (including MotoGP-bound team-mate Fabio Quartararo) have manged to use strong mid-season results to secure their future, Kent says that all he can do now is try to maintain the momentum. “There’s not many options left,” he told MCN. “All I can do is go out and get some good results.
