‘You can’t make a piece of s**t shine’

-

Scott Redding launched an incredible attack on his Aprilia squad, after yet another difficult weekend was enough to break the upbeat mood he’s been enjoying since being told that the factory would not be retaining him for 2019. Admitting that he was out to enjoy what may be his final year in MotoGP, Sunday’s race was a return to reality as he slumped to a lowly 20th position. “It’s been a f**king horrible weekend, because when the wet conditions bring the machines closer I can see my potential and it reminded me of how good I can be. I’ve accepted the situation all season because I haven’t had a wet session, but this weekend reminded me that I can still mix it with the best guys in the world. Then it dries out and you’re nowhere.

“Now I have to go to the next round at Silverstone, smile in front of everyone and say I’m going to do a good performance and it’s all bulls**t. You can’t do anything. You can’t make a piece of s**t shine, but that’s what I’m trying to do. I know it sounds harsh, but that’s what it is.”
