Retro-cool race-rep 125

In a world where mimicking the old is increasingly becoming better than defining the new, FB Mondial’s Italian-designed Chinese-made 125 could be seen as the coolest eighthlitre on the market today. With retro looks and what is set to be a reasonable price, it will be a rival for Yamaha’s YZF-R125, aimed at kids who prefer the Wrenchmonkees to Rossi.

Revived in 2014, the FB Mondial brand was the winner of ten road racing world champions between 1948 and 1957 and the Sport Classic 125i takes its styling cues from period racers with a curvaceous full fairing, chrome under-seat pipes and spoked wheels. It’s powered by the same 125cc DOHC singlecylinder motor first seen in the Hipster 125 and makes the full L-plate-legal 15bhp and weighs 130kg giving it a class-leading power to weight ratio. Expect the bike to be price just under the £4000 mark when it comes to the UK.
