Going down a size

Whenever I read an article such as your superbike v super-naked test (MCN, November 14), I wonder just how fast they’re being ridden. One of the reasons I’m now coming down the power/cc ladder is fear of losing my licence. On roads where I can have lots of fun at a legal 50/60mph, surely on something like the R1 you’d be doing 90/100mph? If you’re not doing that sort of speed, what’s the point and if you are how do you get away with it? I bet you’d have more fun doing a comparison test between a KTM RC390 and a 390 Duke.
