Arai Renegade V £529.99

-

Tested by Dan Sutherland, three months

The Renegade V is designed for the cruiser market, but I struggle to see why it should be confined to that niche. With upper/rear venting similar to Arai’s QV Triple and a neat chin section reminiscent of the old Simpson Bandit, this a helmet befitting the street fighter and naked genres, hence why I’ve put 5000 miles on mine on an unfaired Suzuki SV650X. Finished in the glossy red and white Outline design, this has been my go-to helmet for commuting and weekend rides. It’s the quietest

Arai I have ever used, leaving only the faintest traces of wind noise when used with ear plugs. Although largely positive, I am disappointed with the flimsy nature of chin vent, which is operated by two braille-like dots inside the helmet. Quality ★★★★★ Value ★★★★★ www.moto-direct.com
