5 Chassis experiments

So far, Moto2’s two main chassis rivals have moved in opposite directions; one for the better, one worse. Reigning champs Kalex have played safe, producing simply a modified version of their 2018 Honda chassis with swinging arm, linkages and yokes all unchanged. That means their riders have been on the pace from the off. But rivals KTM seem to have dropped the ball. Having built an all-new frame with revised engine position and weight balance, the bike suffered front end chatter. Reigning Moto3 champ Jorge Martin broke his hand, foot and arm on day one on the official KTM so the Austrian marque is likely to bring something very different to the next test in February.
