WORKOUT WISDOM
ALEX CROCKFORD’S THREE QUICK-FIRE TRAINING TIPS
BE SPECIFIC
Often people don’t feel happy with their progress, because they have no idea where they want to get to. As soon as you materialise in your mind how you want to look or what numbers you want to hit, and set a timeline for hitting those goals, you create a sense of urgency and motivation.
TRACK PROGRESS
The more data you have, the more ability you have to adjust when things aren’t going well. Taking advantage of the technology at our disposal – tracking your nutrition, your steps, your workouts, your energy output, your sleep – can help you measure where you’re at and ultimately reach your goals faster.
RECOVER RIGHT
Stress, sleep and recovery are still massively overlooked. There’s a big emphasis on training and stressing out the body, but looking at the importance of downtime – for both body and mind – through everything from breathwork to less mainstream methods like infrared therapy, can make a huge difference.
