Is your tness tracker a faithful friend or expensive fad? Scientists may have nally found the answer. A new review by the University of Sydney, which analysed data from 28 global studies, found trackers inspire their users to walk an extra 1,850 steps every day. Lead author Dr Liliana Laranjo says this increased level of activity is enough to lower your risk of premature death, heart disease and diabetes. Taking 1,850 more steps equates to walking an additional 0.87 miles each day – or an extra 26.2-mile marathon every single month.
