BE MORE ALPHA
Alpha-linoleic acid (ALA) is an omega-3 fat found in flax, hemp and chia seeds, as well as walnuts and cold-pressed rapeseed oil. It’s essential for health, but its effects on performance are now becoming evident, too. A recent study in elite skiers showed that dietary intake and blood levels of ALA were significantly linked with maximal fat oxidation and aerobic performance2. Try a tablespoon of ground flax in your oatmeal or smoothies, sprinkle hemp seeds on salads, or snack on walnuts to up your intake of ALA.
