A new review of 42 studies has shown that supplement­ing with branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) significan­tly decreases delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) – the stiffness you experience days after an intense workout. Although completely normal and not harmful by itself, DOMS can be highly uncomforta­ble and increase the risk of injury during subsequent workouts.
