Black Minds Matter UK
has launched a huge fundraising initiative, in the hope of securing thousands of donors to support its work in providing free mental health services to black people in the UK. The collective says that for many black people the traumatic effect of racism on mental health is exacerbated by incorrect diagnoses and harsh treatments. A BMMUK survey found that 61 per cent of those questioned experience racism every month, and 21 per cent every week.
