Although most high-intensity interval workouts tend to last 20 to 30 minutes, new research published in the Journal of Physiology found that you can enjoy major health benefits in a sixth of that time. After reviewing 11 studies, the researcher­s found that even five minutes of high-intensity training can improve blood pressure, insulin regulation, weight management and respirator­y performanc­e, thanks to the rapid improvemen­t in cellular function and blood flow triggered by high-intensity training.
