Studies in athletes found that tart cherry juice reduced in ammation and DOMS after both endurance and strength-based exercise – and even led to improvemen­ts in sleep. ere’s no de nitive answer yet as to why, but it’s thought to be because the sour cherries are packed with anthocyani­ns, which have antioxidan­t and antiin ammatory properties.
