This is the number of people who have called dedicated mental health crisis lines set up by the NHS during the pandemic. The 24/7 phone numbers were set up to ease the burden on hospital A&E departments and to make sure that people in crisis could get immediate help. The crisis lines were due to be rolled out in 2023, but were fast-tracked to ensure support could be provided during the pandemic.
