EMOTIONAL BALANCE
A new study by the University of Michigan found that, despite widely held gender stereotypes, men and women feel the same emotional highs and lows throughout the day. Men and women were asked to complete online surveys for 75 days, to monitor the fluctuations of various emotions, such as happiness, pride, irritability and fear. The researchers found hardly any difference between the men and the women, suggesting that men’s emotions change in the same way as women’s – although the triggers for those emotions may well be different between the sexes.
