Mushrooms contain high levels of an antioxidan­t called ergothione­ine, a natural antiinflam­matory. But that’s just one of the brainboost­ing chemicals boasted by the edible fungi: button mushrooms are also good sources of potassium, for instance, which is linked to lowering the risk of anxiety.
