A solid, workhorse daily trainer, this 305g second-gen Cloudstratus offers good versatility at a range of paces, but runs firmer than a lot of maxcushioned, squish-and-response daily trainers. It also copes better than some on a variety of terrain, from tarmac to light trails. You won’t get the punchy response of many superfoam shoes, but its more pronounced rocker midsole – with a forgiving 8mm drop and On’s trademark step-in comfort – makes it a happy cruiser.
