Nomos Glashütte
Square cases, minimalist dials, a Bauhaus-inspired palate – it’s no wonder that Nomos has been generating purrs of approval from designers and creative directors since its founding in 1990. One of the few remaining independent watchmakers, the German minimalist has won a brace of awards for its designs, alongside praise for its technical chops. Though Nomos produces its own movements in-house, this hasn’t impacted on its pricing. “We have introduced several limited editions this year, each to mark an important occasion or cause,” says chief branding officer Judith Borowski. “Our three new versions of Ludwig, for example, celebrated 175 years of watchmaking in Glashütte. In homage to traditional watchmaking, they feature details that are new for Nomos, such as leaf hands and an enamelwhite dial. We also released two versions of our Ahoi model to continue our support for Doctors Without Borders Germany.”
