Patek Philippe
The inventor of several complications (including the perpetual calendar), Patek Philippe employs more horological experts than perhaps any other brand. Its quality is reflected in its waiting times: it takes at least four years to make a “simple” movement and eight for a grand complication. In June, it completed its new production building in Geneva and released a commemorative timepiece, the Calatrava Ref 6007A in steel. Its other 2020 releases include three new grand complications: Ref 5303, its first Minute Repeater with a striking mechanism on the dial side; the Ref 5370 Split-Seconds Chronograph with a blue enamel dial; and a version of the Ref 5270 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph in yellow gold. “We have one of the most comprehensive collections of grand complications, and Ref 5303 is very exciting,” says Adrian Lurshay, managing director of Patek Philippe UK. “It allows the mechanism to be admired in action while the watch is being worn.”
