Vacheron Constantin
Tracing its heritage of fine craftsmanship to 1755, when Jean-Marc Vacheron hired his first apprentice, the Swiss watchmaker is the world’s oldest continuously operating watch company. Today, it employs more than 1,000 staff members worldwide, crafting exquisite grand complications and hypnotic tourbillons at its manufacturing base in Geneva and Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Despite the unprecedented challenges of this year, it has created novelties in various collections: two super-complicated timepieces from Les Cabinotiers (its workshop for bespoke pieces), the Tempo and Ode to Music; four pieces featuring a dragging hours display and enamelled dials; two Traditionnelle models; and Overseas, an ultra-thin perpetual calendar. “We will have a lot to share in the next months – technical watches including complications, with exciting creations in 2021,” says Christian Selmoni, Vacheron Constantin’s heritage and style director.
