CLEARS THE RUB
Chafing occurs when your skin rubs against itself and becomes irritated. Sports that involve repetitive movements, such as cycling and running, can cause saddle sores or rubbing on your inner thighs. To stop it making exercise any more painful, clean it up at source
01_ KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY
Using a talc-free powder such as Gold Bond Ultimate Comfort Body Powder (£12) on your groin or under your arms helps to create a buffer that soaks up excess sweat. Be liberal. It smells fresh, too.
02_ GO LONGER
The inner thigh and groin are areas that are particularly prone to chafing. Wearing long boxer briefs or compression shorts will stop them rucking up and keep the sensitive skin from rubbing against itself.
03_ GIVE IT THE SLIP
If an area is already chafing (or you don’t like powder), use a light moisturiser or anti-chafing stick such as Glide Anti-Chafe Balm (£10) on the affected area – this creates a little “slip” and prevents more irritation.
