HOW TO FACE DOWN AGEING
Life was stressful enough before lockdown anxieties deepened the lines that were already making you look older and worn out. Refresh your skin with these quick fixes
THE PROBLEM CROW’S FEET
The wrinkles around your eyes become more pronounced as your skin loses elasticity with age, says dermatologist Camille Howard-Verovic. Hydrate with hyaluronic acid, which helps retain moisture in your skin, making it appear both smoother and plumper.
UNDER-EYE BAGS
Puffy, swollen skin around your eyes can be the result of a lack of sleep, but the real culprit is fluid retention. Cold temperatures can slow circulation and reduce inflammation, says HowardVerovic. Cool the affected areas to eliminate puffiness.
DARK CIRCLES
When blood vessels are close to the surface of your skin, the resulting circles can make you look like a zombie. “It’s mostly to do with genetics,” says Pavitt. But creams that contain peptides and antioxidants such as vitamin C can help lighten dark circles.
WIZARD EYEBROWS
It’s a fine line between a strong brow and a bushy one. Brow guru Josh Beeler of Shen Beauty recommends tweezing errant hairs, then brushing your brows upward and using small scissors to trim longer hairs. It’ll take years off you.
THE FIX
This contains retinol to target fine lines, as well as hyaluronic acid and glycerin to keep skin looking “full”.
Try these patches. Failing that, aesthetician Sofie Pavitt recommends using two cold, wet teabags.
This is rich in vitamin C and contains light-reflecting particles, which can help to lighten dark zones.
Keep unruly eyebrows in check with this gel, which settles hairs in place. Think of it as a brow-pomade.
