There is little that Gus Vaz Tostes has not expertly turned his hand to in the realm of physical exercise. A footballer at university level while he studied for his BSc in sport science, he then co-founded CrossFit Posto 9 (CFP9) in his beloved homeland of Brazil and competed at an elite level at the South Regional in 2016 in the team division. Now the head of training at WIT Fitness, he brings to his clients the benefit of over 14 years of experience. If you want to lift big, slam bars, have a great time and grow a moustache, he’s your guy.

Favourite workout

As you’d expect, I love the more traditiona­l “CrossFitty” stuff, so anything that combines gymnastics, barbell cycling and cardio.

Favourite movement

The snatch. Pulling yourself under that bar and catching it just right makes you feel like a monster! Handstand press-ups are cool, too – especially as you can do them anywhere with a wall.

Rest day looks like…

A burger in one hand, a cider in the other and playing any kind of sport outside.
