LIFE OF AGONY
| Soul Searching Sun |
ROADRUNNER | SEPTEMBER 1997
Three albums into their career, the New Yorkers launched a record that our man Dan Silver predicted would “cause huge, tsunami-sized ripples within the music world”. Silver’s 9/10 review nailed his colours to the mast, and
Soul Searching Sun was indeed a very special album, though sadly it didn’t serve to turn Life Of Agony into megastars, and shortly afterwards singer Keith – now Mina – Caputo quit the band (she’s back with them again in 2017, of course). If Soul Searching
Sun and its “simple yet devastatingly emotive arrangements” and “unprecedented commercial sound” somehow passed you by at the time, it’s well worth seeking out today.
