SOME OF THE STUFF YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE IN IN THIS MOMENT’S NEW SHOW

-

Blood Girls

“I wanted to take it to a new level, because in the rock’n’roll and metal world, I never really saw a woman who had performers dancing and interacting with them. So I wanted to do something no one else had. These girls are like art coming to life – they’re kind of an extension of me and they help when the scenery changes for each song. The fact you never see their faces gives them a real mysterious energy.”

WHORE cap

“This song is about people who are bullied or told they’re worthless when they’re young or called a whore or a piece of shit – and when you’re that person, learning to let go of everybody’s perceptions. It’s taking something that’s degrading and reversing it, empowering yourself through the hate.”

Spider legs

“These are from the Black Widow album cycle. I kept seeing this black spider within the imagery and all these pointy shiny things, so these legs come from that and turn us into these creatures. I drew them out and showed Chris and we had a fabricator come and make them for us.”

Mother Mary headpiece

“I wear this headpiece during our cover of In The Air Tonight. It’s one of my favourite songs and we cover it on the new album. We did it with really heavy tribal drums and it sounds like this r itual ceremony is happening, and I was envisioning snakes and this big goddess headpiece and this slithering movement mixed with the iconic empowerment of Mother Mary. It’s half beautiful and sof t, and half sinister.”

Hat and knife

“This is the campy fun one. It’s for the title track from Black Widow. It’s a fun song where a bunch of Silent Hill evil nurses are onstage and we attack all the boys. It’s the not-soserious moment in the set, for people to kind of smile and have fun with us.”

Orbs

“These are for our new single Oh Lord. The orbs are like moon goddesses, and we become these natural, witchy, organic women in this song. It’s about how the moon influences, but it’s just a really beautiful visual.”

Fire goddess wings

“We like to have big ‘wow’ moments on the show and I love superempowering visuals. We all love dragons and fire and we use these on the song Burn, which is about the rise of the phoenix. I open these huge, 30-feet red fabric wing things. I’m still learning how to use them, because they’re pretty hard to work with!”
