YOU SAID THE BURBANK EPS WERE THE STARTING POINT FOR THIS ALBUM. HOW SO?

“We were asked to do a cover of The Dark by Metal Church for the Fear Clinic soundtrack, so I suggested we also record the covers we play live. Plus we wanted to do something for Record Store Day.”

YOU WERE VERY FAITHFUL TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL

“Yeah, some people get pissed when you don’t make a cover your own, but when you do change stuff, they get pissed that it’s not like the original! We were trying to recreate the original, and even used vintage stuff to capture that.”

AND WAS THAT THE VIBE YOU TOOK INTO THE HYDROGRAD SESSIONS?

“Yeah, from a sonic viewpoint and a diversity standpoint, that was the start of what Hydrograd would become.”
