PUSCIFER
‘V’ Is For Vagina
SONY/BMG JANuAry 2008 Christ on a bike, how is this album nearly 10 years old already? Back in 2008 the optimists among us hoped the debut from Puscifer might be an appetiser for a new Tool record. We’re still waiting, and Maynard James Keenan’s “revolving door of talented people” has gone on to release two further albums. It’s a strange old world, and ‘V’
Is For Vagina was unusual, disconcerting and yet “mesmerising”. Maynard claimed that it sounded like “old Motown hits”. Awarding it eight out of 10, Hammer’s reviewer, Jonathan Selzer, suggested Puscifer were “nothing of the kind”. He summed up: “This is some of the darkest stuff that Maynard James Keenan has produced.”
