Forever ROADRUNNER

For years, hardcore has been calling out for an album to take it from its dingy underground habitat and into the wider world, but without sacrificing an inch in the abrasive power that makes the very best of its bands so exciting. 2017 should be remembered as the year when Code orange made that happen. From the first listen, we knew Forever was a record unlike anything we had heard before, scooping up skewed electronic noise, classic alternative rock and jarring, cold, industrial sounds and dropping them in the middle of some of the harshest, savage hardcore.

But the fact that almost a year on from its release, songs like the anthemic Bleeding In The Blur and the mechanically throbbing Hurt Goes On continue to reveal hidden depths that were undetected during early listenings says everything about this landmark album’s quality. A modern classic.
