FEED THE RHiNO
UNDERWORLD, LONDON It’s been a trying couple of years for Feed The Rhino, but for all their lack of recent activity the resulting frustrations are getting exorcised in the live environment they’ve always excelled in. Recent album The Silence isn’t quite the return we’d hoped for, but as newbie opener Featherweight kickstarts the chaos it’s clear the band are still taking no prisoners. There’s pandemonium when vocalist Lee Tobin climbs over the crowd during The Burning Sons, ending up on a disciple’s shoulders and screaming his lungs out in the middle of a wall of death. Time away has done nothing to tame FTR’s fire, with Tobin prefacing the
The Silence’s title track by giving a heartfelt speech about how much the band still means to him. By the time they finish they’re joined onstage by both their entire crew and most of the audience crammed into the venue. It’s been a while but this kind of destruction is typical of a Feed The Rhino show. Reports of their demise have been greatly exaggerated.
