BLEED FROM WIThIN
DYSCARNATE
THE CAMDEN ASSEMBLY, LONDON
recovering from early technical
hang-ups, UK trio DYSCARNATE’S
[7] initially scrambled mix gradually sharpens to a more earpleasing point and discordant flourishes plummet into chuggy breakdowns. The Promethean and
Iron Strengthens Iron are highlights, and though their performance remains modest for the most part, Dyscarnate’s imposing brand of death metal serves as a fitting precursor to the headliners. BLEED FROM WITHIN
[8] vocalist Scott Kennedy channels pure ferocity into the Glaswegian quintet’s barrage of groovy melodic DM. Packing more meaty hooks and stomachchurning aggression than a slasher movie, the heat quickly rises in the intimate, sold-out venue as Cast Down, Afterlife and a Gojira-esque Shiver transforms the crowd into a searing ball of raw, kinetic energy. Though focusing on material from latest release Era, the band revisit 2013’s Uprising with well-received drops into It Lives In Me and I Am Oblivion. After years of inactivity, BFW are better than ever.
