BLACKHOUSE North west US mavericks engineer some tech-metal mayhem

It’s no easy task to enter the world of spasmodic, technical hardcore and sound truly dangerous these days. We’ve got a scene full of Botch, Every Time I Die and The Chariot out there already and chances are, whatever you’re bringing to the table, we’ve already heard it. So, take a bow, Faus, who manage to take this wellestablished sound and approach and breathe a modicum of new life into it. From the opening blasts of Jiggle Psychics you’re interested, but by the time they reach an a cappella mid-section breakdown you realise you’ve just been thrown a masterful curveball. From that point on it’s every man and woman for themselves in trying to keep up with the weird time signatures, multi-layered vocal patterns and sickening grooves. Faus aren’t reinventing the wheel by any stretch of the imagination, but they’ve certainly polished the alloys up a bit. FOR FANS OF: MINUS, BOTCH, THE CHARIOT
